A gynae range company supplies a complete gynaecology product line rather than a handful of fast-moving items. This list judges five companies on one thing only: whether the range is deep enough to hold a gynaecologist’s whole prescription. It is not a general ranking — for that, see our top 10 gynae PCD companies list.

ToggleA distributor loses a doctor one molecule at a time. The gynaecologist writes a prescription, three of the five items come from your range, and the pharmacy sources the other two elsewhere. Within a few months the pharmacy has a relationship with the other supplier, and your two items become one.
This is why SKU count is a poor measure. Two hundred products that are all antenatal supplements is a shallow range. Ninety products spread correctly across six therapeutic areas is a deep one.
1. Progesterone formats. A range with one progesterone product cannot serve a fertility practice. Natural micronised progesterone in soft-gel, sustained-release tablet and injection are three different clinical propositions — luteal support, threatened miscarriage and preterm prophylaxis do not use the same format. A supplier with only one covers roughly a third of the prescriptions.
2. Ovulation induction. Letrozole and clomiphene citrate are both first-line depending on the indication and the prescriber’s preference, particularly in PCOS. A range carrying only one loses the other half of the fertility OPD.
3. The iron salt. Antenatal anaemia is the highest-volume gynae segment in India, and it is one of the few where doctors prescribe by salt rather than by category. Ferrous ascorbate, carbonyl iron and ferrous sulphate are not interchangeable in a prescriber’s mind. A range with one iron product will be substituted on the others.
Halefem Gynae supplies over 200 gynae formulations across six therapeutic series: gynaecological and pregnancy care, progesterone, female infertility and PCOS-PCOD management, UTI and vaginal care, contraceptive and abortion, and male infertility. Products are manufactured at WHO-GMP compliant units at Sai Road, Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, under Edmund Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., an ISO 9001:2015 certified company operating since 2015.
On the three break points: the progesterone series is a series rather than a product, covering multiple formats. Ovulation induction covers both letrozole and clomiphene. The antenatal series carries more than one iron salt.
The male infertility series is the unusual one. Most gynae ranges stop at the female patient. In practice a fertility consultation involves a couple, and a distributor whose range covers only half of it hands the other half to someone else. It is the least glamorous series in the range and one of the more useful.
Stated plainly: Halefem does not own its manufacturing. Products are made at third-party WHO-GMP compliant units under Edmund Healthcare’s brand and quality oversight.
Aconwell operates a dedicated gynaecology division rather than a gynae section within a general range. Its published material describes a full-range gynae franchise programme. A separate division usually indicates the range was assembled for gynaecology rather than extended into it.
A gynae-focused company whose material describes WHO-GMP compliant manufacturing and a gynaecology-specific list. Worth requesting the full range document rather than the website list, which in this sector is usually a subset.
Markets a combined gynae and paediatric range, describing DCGI and WHO-GMP approvals in its own material. The paediatric overlap is genuinely useful for a distributor calling on the same hospitals, though it means the gynae portion is a division of attention rather than the whole.
A gynaecology specialist rather than a general company with a gynae line. For a distributor who only sells gynae, specialists typically leave fewer gaps in the therapeutic map.
Do not read the product list. Do this instead.
Take five real prescriptions from doctors you already call on — actual ones, not typical ones. Send the molecule list to each company and ask them to mark which items they supply and in which strengths and formats.
The answer tells you what a brochure cannot: what proportion of a real prescription you would actually be able to fill. Anything under about 70% means you are introducing a competitor to your own doctor every time that script is written.
Ask two follow-ups: what is the current stock position on those items, and what is the lead time on a reorder. A deep range that is out of stock is a shallow range with better marketing.
You will see it constantly in this sector. It is not a valid claim. WHO-GMP is a manufacturing compliance standard assessed against a facility; it is not a certificate a marketing company holds. A company whose products are made at a compliant unit should say exactly that, and should be able to hand you the documentation for the plant with the address on it — which you can then compare against the product carton. We cover this and five other checks in red flags when choosing a gynae PCD company.
Send us the molecule list from five real prescriptions in your territory and we will mark what we supply, in which formats, with current stock position. If the fit is poor we will tell you rather than sell you an opening order. Send an enquiry with your territory and prescriber base.
For pharmaceutical distributors and franchise partners. Not medical advice, and not product promotion to the public. Details of companies other than Halefem are drawn from their own published material and attributed as such.
What is a gynae range company?
A company supplying a complete gynaecology product line — antenatal, fertility, hormonal, infection and contraceptive segments — rather than a small number of fast-moving items. The distinction matters to a distributor because a partial range means a doctor’s prescription gets filled partly by you and partly by a competitor.
How many products should a gynae range have?
Coverage matters more than count. Ninety products correctly spread across the main therapeutic areas beat two hundred concentrated in antenatal supplements. Test coverage against real prescriptions from your own territory rather than against the size of the list.
Which gynae products are most commonly prescribed in India?
Antenatal haematinics and calcium are the highest-volume segment. Progesterone in its various formats, ovulation induction agents such as letrozole and clomiphene, and treatments for vaginal and urinary tract infection make up most of the rest. A range weak in any of these will be substituted.
Why does progesterone format matter in a gynae range?
Because the formats are not interchangeable. Natural micronised progesterone as a soft-gel, as a sustained-release tablet and as an injection serve different clinical situations — luteal support, threatened miscarriage and preterm prophylaxis. A supplier carrying only one format covers only part of the prescribing.
Should I choose a gynae specialist or a general company with a gynae division?
If you sell only gynae, a specialist usually leaves fewer therapeutic gaps. A general company with a genuine gynae division can work well if you also call on other departments in the same hospitals, since it lets you carry more from one supplier. What matters is whether the gynae portion was assembled for gynaecology or extended into it.
